Lost In Her Eyes

Lost In Her Eyes

Her deep eyes made me giddy,
Lewd thoughts went away,
Needlessly I tried to go away,
But she showed no pity.

Ditched me with a mere glance,
I was lost in a trance,
With silence I missed the only chance,
A rendezvous ended without any romance.

Letter of A Girl

Letter of A Girl

This is a letter by a girl going to be born in India. This India’s daughter is asking for some explanations from God before her birth. Will she get her answer?

Dear God,

Your messenger came and told me to go there,
to India the country known for its heritage and culture rare.
But before coming to life on earth,
before appearing in my human birth,
I want to ask some necessary questions,
and hope for your thorough explanation.
The person you have selected to be my father,
is hoping for a son or is ready for a daughter?
lest he would try to kill me before birth,
and cancelled my only chance to see your earth.
I also need your assurance on wounds & bruise,
would I be safe from child sexual abuse,
See don’t think that I am a bit crazy and rude,
My concerns are genuine since I have only one childhood.
As a teenager would my future be secure,
or would a one sided lover attack my face with an acid pure
ruining my life for a moment’s attraction,
You must build something for their distraction.
Raping a woman have become a task of pride,
I wouldn’t want to be sweet in reach of flies’ stride.
I just want to be sure for my future,
People there have become some different creature,
I am a creative person, you can see I talk in rhyme,
so don’t want to be secluded as some one’s wife in my prime.
If you are sending me, send me to the world of equality,
and not in the world of crimes, insult and cruelty.
I have dreams to fulfill after my birth,
to be among people who understand my worth.
I am ready to be daughter,a sister, a lover,a wife and a mother,
but I don’t want anybody to be the judge of my attitude and character.
I think I have asked for so much, so direct ,
but I am a woman I would be happy with just some respect.
Waiting for your reply.
Yours own creation,
A Girl.
God don’t answer everything some answers he has left for us to search. Can we guarantee her a safe life in this country? Its Women’s Day today so try to find answers for her questions.

Holi Ke Bahane Aaja !

(Holi Ke Bahane Aaja !)

Holi is the Indian festival of colors which marks the victory of good over evil , the victory of Prahlada over his aunt Holika . This festival is also a festival of love and to unite forgetting all our differences. The association of this festival with Lord Krishna give it a touch of mischief and naughtiness. His Raslila with Radha and other gopis are also linked to it. Here I am presenting a Hindi song depicting this flirting ( sorry for the absence of music ) but Bura Na Mano Holi Hai . Happy Holi to all.

(Premi):

Preet nibhane aaja, holi ke bahane aaja,
Feeka pada hai jeevan, rango se sajane aaja.
Laal gulal se kyun gaal tere laal hain?
Holi hai karan ya meri tareef ka kamaal hai?
Bheegi-bheegi galiyon se chupte-chupate aaja,
Preet nibhane aaja, holi ke bahane aaja.

(Premika):

Dekhe zamana mohe,kaise main aaungi?
Preet to teri bhi hai,tu hi jatane aaja,
Holi ke bahane aaja, Rango se sajane aaja.

(Premi):

Aaunga mein to koi teri sakhi mil jayegi,
Dekh muskaegi, mujhko rijhaegi, nazrein milaegi,
Bhang ke nashe mein mujhe behekne se bachane aaja,
Holi ke bahane aaja, preet nubhane aaja.

(Premika):

Maanti hun baat teri, par mein aayee to,
Rang lange chehron mein farq na kar payee to,
Tere doston ke gale var-mala pehna aayee to,
Kehne na pade bhabhi ye jokhim mitane aaja,
Holi ke bahane aaja, preet nibhane aaja.
Such kind of flirting, naughtiness go on on this day which also helps in strengthening and expressing love.

Udd Jayega Hans Akela

(Udd Jayega Hans Akela) – Sant Kabir

Recently I heard a song from Hawaizada ( Ayushmaan Khuran & Mithoon Chakrobarty staring Hindi Movie) Udd Jayega Hans Akela and found that it is inspired by this spiritual poem of Sant Kabir. In this verse he has compared Swan to human soul which will fly to its ultimate destination one day leaving all the worldly pleasure. He says that one has no control over this flight by comparing it to the non-directional flight of a falling leaf in the wind. To understand this poem more you can visit : Message of Udd Jayega Hans Akela
Ud Jayega Huns Akela, Jug Darshan Ka Mela,
Jaise Paat Gire Taruvar Se, Milna Bahut Duhela
Naa Jane Kidhar Girega, Lageya Pawan Ka Rela
Jub Howe Umur Puri, Jab Chute Ga Hukum Huzuri
Jum Ke Doot Bade Mazboot, Jum Se Pada Jhamela
Das Kabir Har Ke Gun Gawe, Wah Har Ko Paran Pawe
Guru Ki Karni Guru Jayega, Chele Ki Karni Chela.

The Swan will fly alone, the world is mere a spectacle known,
As the leaves fall from tree, Is difficult to find with strain ,
Who knows where it will fall, with wind when its blown,
When life will be complete, then following orders will be over,
Yama’s* messengers are very strong, entangled in Yama‘s zone,
Servant Kabir sings praises of God, he finds the god soon,
Master will get his doings, disciple’s doings will be accordingly shown.
*Yama is Yamaraj a Hindu god who took away souls.

Loneliness

Loneliness

When nobody care, you remain there
in your embrace I get rid of despair.

you explain me complexities of life,
you are a true partner, my right pair
when world restricts me to patiently thrive,
you pacify me, to confront you they never dare.

you never judge me, never grudge on me,
In good or bad , you always adhere,
When everybody leaves me alone,
O! Loneliness you owns me and take care.

When nobody care, you remain there
in your embrace I get rid of despair.

Tumhare Ishq Mein!

(Tumhare Ishq Mein)

Happy Valentines Day. This is the time of the year for love. When you express your feelings to your loved ones. But this is also the time to realize that true love is in giving without worrying about getting it back in return. This ghazal is about one such love. Enjoy this to enjoy the true spirit of love where one is happy even after losing all he/she have including one’s life.
Tumhare ishq mein khud ko mita diya dekho,
Zamanebhar se rishta bhula diya dekho.
Koi jo rok kar pooche hai ab pata mera,
Kadmon mein tere sar apna jhuka diya dekho.
Mohabbat kaise karte hain ye maloom nahin,
Ghar-baar apna humne gawa diya dekho.
Batao raaz kya dil mein chupaye baithe ho,
Cheer ke humne dil apna dikha diya dekho.
Tumhare ishq mein khud ko mita diya dekho,
Zamanebhar se rishta bhula diya dekho.

It Was Just A Dream

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 51; the fifty-first edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. It Was Just A Dream

A politician came, high on fame,
removed corruption ,poverty,rapes,
Opposition lacked any charges on his name,
cheaper are oil,onion,potato and grapes.

then I heard a scream and realized that it was just a dream.

A girl in a dress tight, on lonely road in night,
soon surrounded by so many men,
To help her in reaching home, they started to fight,
she reached home safely without any strain,

then I heard a scream and realized that it was just a dream.

A poor village boy, playing with a toy,
All children of his age studying in school,
Childhood is without burden and full of joy,
they all are happy, healthy and cool,

then I heard a scream and realized that it was a dream.

A small nation is in full elation,
As it is now free, world was free,
there is peace in the world and satisfaction,
World is growing like a family tree,

then again I heard a scream and realized that it was my dream.

Don’t bother, if now they are not  reality,
We will succeed, these dreams gives this surety.

Journey To Someone’s Heart

Journey To Someone’s Heart

Neither airplane nor any train,
Even if it’s far you can’t use a car,
for journey to someone’s heart.
The path is shaky & turbulent,
If commitment is not 100 percent,
in journey to someone’s heart.
The heart which is very fragile,
Love things otherwise futile,
May disown luxury & wealth pile,
and accept just a true smile,
To walk miles and mile,
in journey of life.
You just need an honest start,
a truthful loving heart
for journey to someone’s heart.

( Kab Tera Kehlaunga?)

All Muslims and Christians are considered as foreign religions by some of the right wing Hindu groups and even after so many generations of followers of these religions they considered them as converts who required ‘Ghar Wapasi‘. So they force them to convert to Hinduism or to leave India. This make me ask this question in this poem on behalf of Muslims and Christians “When I will be called yours? “
India is a land of diversity and being one in spite of so many disparities is our USP ,this is what makes India. In 26th January 1950 we adopted a constitution for the Union of India which binds us together as one nation. Treatment of alienation by fellow countrymen instill fear, insecurity and tensions in the minorities. The fights, riots, etc on such issues are hindrance in our growth. Let’s ask this question today on the eve of our Republic Day what defines an Indian, some religious symbol or love for the country.
Tere chardon mein sheesh jhukaunga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?
Jab mathe tilak lagaunga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?
Kyun dharmon mein, kyun kaumon mein,
Tujhko bata jaata hai?
Kyun chote-chote hisso mein,
Tujhko kata jaata hai?
Kisi hisse hokar aaunga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?
Tere chardon mein sheesh jhukaunga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?
Tujhko apne haatho se maine bhi sajaya hai,
Tere raksha mein lahu maine bhi bahaya hai,
Mujhko bhi tune hi aanchal mein khilaya hai,
Mere mathe ko mushkil mein tune hi sehlaya hai.

Jab Ganga mein bahaya jaunga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?
Jab mathe tilak lagaunga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?

Ye dost mere, ye bhai mere,
Kyun mujhko thukrate hain.
Aapas mein ladkar sab,
Kyun tera dil dukhate hain.

Jab tera laal hone ka saboot launga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?
Tere chardon mein sheesh jhukaunga,
Kya tab tera kehlaunga?

Happy Republic Day to all Indians. This is the right time to think about above questions and come together as a one nation.
(Laal) – Child .

Tang Aa Chuke Hain Kashmakash Ae Zindagi Se Hum

( I am fed up with life’s dilemma ) – Sahir Ludhianvi

This Sahir Ludhianvi’s Ghazal used in two Hindi movies Pyasa (1957) and Light House (1958) is tale of a person who is fed up from his life and wants to renounce this world. The person received only betrayal, alienation, distrust and disgust of the world rather than love, hope, compassion and sympathy. He in this ghazal also blames god for his condition for neglecting him and his state in life. I was looking for Sahir Ludhianvi’s ghazals for translation from a long time and I chose this because it holds the touch of sufism and points out at futility of this life which unable to give any reason to stay in it. I have translated it here in this post.

I am fed up with life’s difficulty,
I might disapprove this world reluctantly.

Mayusi-ae-maal-e-mohabbat na puchiye,
Apno se paish aa rahein hai baigangi se hum.
Don’t ask about despair ending of love,
I am alienating with my loved ones knowingly

Today I have broken the relationship of expectation,
Now I will never ever complain to anybody.

Hum ghamzada hain layein kahan se khusi ke geet,
Denge wahi jo payeinge is zindagi se hum.

I am sorrowful, from where I brought songs of happiness,
I will only give what I will get from this world’s fallacy.

Ubhrainge ek baar abhi dil ke valvale,
Gau daab gayein hain baar-ae-gham-e-zindagi se hum.

Just once heart’s frustrations will emerge,
As I have absorbed pressure of life’s worries patiently.

Gar zindagi mein mil gaye phir ittefaq se,
Poochenge apna haal teri baibasi se hum.

If by coincidence we meet again in this life,
I will ask about my condition from your helplessy (helplessness).

O aasman wale kabhi to nigaah kar,

O! God sometimes see my state,
Till now I am tolerating these tortures silently,

Allah re fareb-e-mashiyat ki aaj tak,
Duniya ke zulm sehte rahe masumiyat se hum.

Till today due to divine plot,
World’s torment I am carrying innocently.

These are the parts of ghazals used in songs in Pyasa ( sung by Md Rafi) and Light House ( sung by Asha Bhosle )
