The Gone Year (2014)

2014 has come to an end. Each year that passed leave some memories whether good or bad which makes it remarkable. This year saw rise of a common man (Arvind Kejriwal ) and also his fall, people voted a man to power who was once charged for instigating riots (Narender Modi ) for his charisma.Things like a cowardly act of terrorism (Peshawar), differentiation due to color leading to riots ( Ferguson), spread of a deadly disease(Ebola), disappearance of a plane (MH370), death of a young cricketer (Philip Hughes ) ,etc were sorrowful while the things like world standing as one against terrorism, everyone supporting a cause (Ice bucket challenge ), first satellite on an asteroid, cheapest ride to mars ( Mars Orbiter Mission, India), Germany’s Football world Cup win, etc were cheerful. This poem is walking down the memory lane to give some jovial and mournful moments and welcoming the new year with new zeal. Happy New Year to all.

Like every year, this year has also gone ,
Leaving some moments to relish and mourn.

Teaching again that mistakes are not permanent,
each one of us receives a chance to repent.

The upward rise should not reach our head,

the cheapest thing are not always bad.

We fought for our color & for our god’s presence,
forgetting our weaknesses to find a disappearance.

It is affirmed that humanity is still alive,
and confirmed that brutality would not thrive.

You must be consistent not best to win ,
To be the change first you must begin.

Some bid adieu , some comes anew,
strong intentions helps straighten the skew,

We promised that love is stronger than any disease,
Resolute to care , united for whatever evil we receive.

But we are not defeated neither tired ,
In the new year we are newly wired .

Having high dreams and aspirations,
Be ready for new year and its new creations.

Inspiring words of advice, Cifar! I will keep this stanza in my heart to remind me that it is more important to be myself.
